Sunrise Magic
I spend hours on Google Earth and Fatmap researching the mountains that I photograph. Sometimes I find out what they are named after photographing them, and sometimes I already know because I have been there. I like to have a look around and then hike them in the summer or even ski them in the winter. The area in this photo I have both hiked and skied, summer and winter. It looks terrifying to me in this photo. The Aguille du Chardonnet and the Aguilles Dorees dominate the scene with the Trient glacier, glacier d’Orny, glacier de Saleina and glacier du Tour surrounding. I’m fascinated when I look out from Verbier at the endless incredible mountain peaks and glaciers we look out at. I’m still learning the names of all the peaks. Once I only knew the name of the Grand Combin and the Mt Blanc. Now I’m in awe and wish I had a better memory to retain it all! Our natural planet is just awesome.
