Edition of 8 · Signed and Numbered
Captured at 3,330m in the Swiss Alps. As the final light of the day faded across the Alps, the summit of the Grand Combin caught the last glow of the sun, its peaks illuminated in a soft, golden glow while the world below began to fall into darkness. The scene felt impossibly calm, almost still, as if time has slowed just for this moment.
Yet the reality was far harsher. At 3,330m, the temperature had dropped to -20°C, with strong winds filling the silence. I had been there for 4hrs already and would be up there for a further 16hrs, fully awake overnight, already looking forward to the warmth that comes with sunrise.
Standing there, watching the final light touch the mountain, everything felt worth it. The cold, the exhaustion, the long hours alone in the dark. It was one of those rare moments where effort and reward meet perfectly, where nature offers something brief and extraordinary. A moment that stays with you long after the light has gone.
To achieve such a high resolution photograph I had to compose several images. The result is a single, high-resolution composition that captures the scene as it unfolded.
This work is released as a limited edition of 8. Each piece is individually signed and numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Produced using museum-quality materials.
