Chamonix highs
I do think this is one of the most spectacular views on earth. Chamonix in France has so many impressive peaks surrounding the Mt Blanc and this shot taken from the Aguille du Midi is one of my favourite angles. We had a few days with high pressure and little wind in Verbier and the inversion was spectacular. I had always wanted to catch Chamonix with an inversion so I checked the weather there and it was similar. I immediately packed to go over to Chamonix. I arrived to a grey, miserable cold and cloudy morning. I took the telepherique from Chamonix to the Aguille du Midi at 3842m. The cloud level was high and I thought it might be too high. But to my delight I popped out through the clouds to the most spectacular view above the clouds and see the most beautiful sea of clouds around me with the mountain peaks revealed. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
